Private tour inside East Village community gardens

Description

Let’s meet in the Mecca of the American counterculture of the 70s and 80s :  the East Village. You will be welcomed by your guide in Tompkins Square Park for a detailed introduction to the East Village history. You will also meet a local activist who will take you to a custom tour featuring 3 community gardens. Usually closed during weekdays, they will be open especially for you. What to expect : vegetable gardens, beehives, japanese gardens and rose gardens in the heart of the city !

Your guide will share fun facts about each one of the gardens. You will learn why they can be found in the East Village and the political reasons at stake. In short, a visit for the New York insiders who want to get off the beaten track and see New York like a local.
